For fewer coiled halyards at the mast or under the sprayhood

Once a furling sail is hoisted, you normally have a big coil of halyard line under the sprayhood or hanging on a cleat at the mast until it’s time to remove the sail by the end of the season.

Seldén Mast is pleased to announce the launch of Halyard Tensioner 32, ideal for sails that are permanently hoisted such as furling mainsails and headsails used on a jib furling system.

The sail is hoisted with a messenger line fixed to the halyard until it can be hooked on to the upper attachment point of the car. A temporary tail-line is then fitted to the lower point and lead back to a winch for final tensioning. The car will slide down the 32 mm wide track and the pin-stop plunger will engage in the trimholes, one after the other, until a desired luff tension is achieved. The tail-line and the messenger line can both be stowed away until the sail is to be lowered. Practical and easy to use.

 

The car is machined and anodized aluminium with plain bearings and a spring-loaded twist handle with stainless plunger. The beckets are designed to extend the curve of the handle preventing lines from snagging.  The track is a machined and anodized aluminium extrusion with c-c 50 mm between the slanted trim positions. Safe working load is 2000 kg.

Halyard Tensioner 32 is available in two lengths, 740 mm and 1090 mm

All goods will be shipped covered by the Carrier’s standard insurance cover. We will help arrange further insurance cover if required.

RETURNS

If you are not satisfied with the product purchased from Sailutions Ltd, the item may be returned after receiving return authorization, within 30 days of purchase. We will replace, exchange, or credit the items. We do ask that the item be returned in the same condition as received with all of the original paperwork. Shipping charges are non-refundable. No returns
are accepted on used items, items that are not in original condition or packaging.
